Description

The Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (NECTFL) is the largest and oldest multi-language association of pre-kindergarten through university teachers in the country. Although a regional association, its activities, publications, and annual conference attract participants from around the country and the globe.

Mission / Aims

Promoting the study of world languages, literature, and cultures among individual, local, state, regional, and international audiences.

Informing and facilitating communication among educators, legislators, policy makers and members of the general public on issues related to the teaching, learning, and understanding of world languages and cultures.

Leading the profession through training, such as workshops or internships provided to state and local organizations and to language professionals within the northeast region.

Developing expertise and excellence in language teaching through the annual Conference, sponsored research, workshops, the application of emerging instructional technologies, and our publications.
