Description

Provide credentialing standards for the training industry. Facilitate developmental programs for those in the profession and/or needing to develop their training skills. Provide workshops and programs to develop our members and an opportunity for networking among members. We provide Special Interest Groups (SIGS) for specific areas members wish to expand their knowledge. Our members consist of consultants, internal trainers and managers, human resource profession, and a variety of vendors providing accompanying support services. Our conference hosts cutting edge leaders in the profession. We draw visitors from around the globe at all levels of organizations from entry level to senior level executives.

Principal activities

Annual Conference is a one day event on Veteran's Day and hosts leading industry professionals such as Ken Blanchard, Bob Pike, etc.

Special Interest Groups (SIG) focused on areas important to membership to develop their skills in a particular area or share their knowledge to help others.

Certification Study Groups prepare participants for the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification exam.

Chapter Meetings with featured interactive industry leader on topics membership listed as most relevant to their needs

Training and Development recently became recognized by the Department of Labor as an industry. The industry is officially called Workplace Learning and Performance (WLP).
