Description

Founded in 1926, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for successful careers.

Member benefits

Periodicals, such as ACTE's member magazine Techniques and Career Tech Update, a daily newsletter, designed to keep members on top of the latest career and technical education trends and issues. References such as books, brochures, videos and CDs are available for members and for their students. An Annual Convention and Career Tech Expo each year offers a venue for four days of interaction and networking. Public Policy activities represent members on issues regarding career and technical education in Congress, federal agencies and the White House. The Association also holds an annual policy conference in March that provides members an opportunity to educate national policymakers about the importance of career and technical education on Capitol Hill.

Mission / Aims

To provide leadership in developing an educated, prepared, and competitive workforce.

Principal activities

ACTE is committed to enhancing the job performance and satisfaction of its members; to increasing public awareness and appreciation for career and technical programs; and to assuring growth in local, state and federal funding for these programs by communicating and working with legislators and government leaders.
