British Institute of Hypnotherapy & NLP (BIHNLP)

Description

The British Institute is a long established unique non profit making association of hypnotherapists/psychotherapists and (Neuro Linguistic Programming) NLP practitioners who are committed to the highest standards of ethical practice and professional competence, and are completely independent of all training organisations or school registers. Fundamental to the policies of the BIH are the concepts of holistic health care and self help. The Institute accordingly seeks to establish links, not only with orthodox medicine but also with representatives of other complementary practices. For example see Internet Health Library at www.internethealthlibrary.com It is BIH policy to pursue the principle of ensuring that our members have had access to adequate training initially and to promote ongoing training for those members who are already in practice.

Member benefits

As a full member you will be entitled to apply for an NHS provider number, also you you will become eligable to join the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) register. www.cnhc.org.uk We also insist that members must have professional indemnity insurance, (we can offer advice on how these can be best obtained) covering any civil liability devolving on the member arising out of the practice of Hypnotherapy/Psychotherapy and/or NLP, including: public liability product liability, professional indemnity (malpractice, errors and omissions), libel or slander, with a limit of at least £1,000,000 for any one claim.

The BIH is a member of the UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations (UKCHO) which is a national umbrella confederation of reputable hypnotherapy organisations each completely independent in its own right but still conforming to the high standards of competence set by the UKCHO, (see www.ukcho.co.uk) this should give us a secure position when the time comes that European governments have any say in the future of Hypnotherapy/Psychotherapy/NLP in this country.

You will also receive periodically a newsletter/journal, through which the exchange of ideas and information will be encouraged, in addition to keeping members up to date with current thinking, training courses, meetings, practical therapy techniques and any other information that is relevant to the field of Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy and NLP. In addition to this, your name will be entered on our register, online and hard copy, in order that you may benefit from referrals from members of the public when they contact us for advice and assistance.

We regularly provide further ongoing, information on training courses and workshops by professional trainers on specific topics within Hypnotherapy/Psychotherpy, NLP, and TFT/EFT. As a member you will often be entitled to a discount on all the training recommended by the BIH.
