Mission / Aims

The CSMTA provides leadership in the field of sport massage therapy and education through its National Sport Massage Certification Program (NSMCP)© to serve the Canadian athletic community.

The CSMTA mission is: Keeping athletes in good hands. One of the most important aspects of CSMTA is to educate its members, the general massage therapist population, parents, coaches, and athletes about sport massage and its benefits.

Principal activities

Providing sport massage services at sport events locally, provincially, and nationally. The CSMTA is a member of the Expert Group (sport physicians, sport physiotherapists, athletic therapists, sport chiropractors) providing certified sport massage therapists for major games.

Training / Licensing / Certification

The CSMTA is developing sport massage therapists through its National Sport Massage Certification Program (NSMCP)© and providing distance education through the International Sport Massage Diploma Program©;

The CSMTA is a certifying body for sport massage therapists in Canada.
