Description

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland is a leading recognised accountancy body representing 5,000 members and students. Our membership operates in public practice, industry, financial services and the public sector. The CPA qualification is recognised under the EU Mutual Directive, and CPAs work in 28 countries around the world.

Mission / Aims

The Institute oversees the professional activities of its members in practice, and ensures that education and training standards are maintained. As the first Accountancy Body in Ireland to introduce a mandatory regime of continuing professional education (CPE), the Institute ensures that all CPAs remain at the leading edge throughout their careers. It provides a high quality service to members and students which has been recognised through the award and maintenance of ISO 9001:2000.

Additional information

A 'CPA' is a qualified member of the Institute. 40% of CPAs work in practice and 60% in industry, including financial services, public sector, consultancy, IT and education.
