ICAI is Ireland\'s largest and longest established accountancy body. Of its 15,000 members, 65% are employed in industry across all sectors. The remaining 35% are employed in practice.

Mission / Aims
ICAI aims to serve the public and promote Chartered Accountancy through achieving and maintaining the highest standards in the professional and technical competence of its members, in their education and training and in their professional conduct.
Principal activities
Chartered Accountants employed in practice may specialise in areas such as audit or tax, they also carry out work in areas such as insolvency, investment business and general business advice. Chatered Accountants in industry work in a variety of sectors and roles such as corporate finance and leadership.
Training / Licensing / Certification
Members can complete a wide variety of training and courses provided by Lifelong Learning: CPD. A range of courses are provided online. Diploma and Masters programmes are also available for members.
