Description

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) is the world\'s first professional body of accountants, receiving its Royal Charter in 1854. It was the first to adopt the designation \'Chartered Accountant\' and the designatory letters \'CA\' are still an exclusive privilege in the UK for its 16,000 members.

Its members hold, often very influential, positions across the business sector industry, commerce, public practice, financial services, education, local and central government. Their influence is not confined to the UK with more than 2,000 of its members working overseas in nearly 100 countries.
