Description

We are an association of local Main Street Independent agencies with a proud tradition of delivering personal service to our members and serving the insurance industry in general. We work continually on behalf of our members for the growth and perpetuation of their agencies. PIA of SC is an affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Agents. (PIA National).

The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents represents independent agents in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. These agents are local agents serving local people. They realize the importance of an organization that advocates on their behalf and enables them to stay informed, educated and connected to other insurance professionals. They also benefit from the many business-building tools that only an organization with the size and experience of PIA can offer. PIA supports them so they can be the professionals that today's and tomorrow's customers demand.
In Legislatures Across America

PIA represents members' interests in state capitals and on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. to ensure that lawmakers understand insurance agents' positions. PIA's grassroots campaigns give individual agents a powerful collective voice in government.
Within the Industry

PIA works with carriers and industry organizations - the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL), the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD) and others - to ensure that the concerns of independent agents are addressed. Members have access to materials to strengthen their agency and to keep them up to date with industry trends and regulations. PIA of SC is committed to the continued state regulation of insurance and we fully support the ASSURE initiative.
