Description

The mission of the Canadian Hematology Society (CHS) is to lead and influence the practice of hematology in Canada through being a recognized and valued voice of the Canadian hematology community.

In part, this mission will be achieved by the promotion of education both through continuing medical education, continuing health education, and education at the annual meeting as well as fulfilling some of the MOCOMP requirements.

The mission will further be achieved by promotion of young scientists, clinicians and investigators.

Member benefits

Active Members, are physicians engaged in the practice of clinical or laboratory hematology in Canada or Canadian physicians engaged in such practice, or persons with university degrees making continuing contributions to research in physiology or pathology in hematology in Canada may apply to become active members. In appropriate cases, the requirement for a university degree or other qualifications may be waived if in the opinion of the Executive Committee the candidate is making significant continuing contributions to science. Active Members may request transfer to the status of Emeritus Member at the age of 65 or for other adequate reasons. Only Active Members shall vote, hold office and pay dues.
