Description
The Northwest Territories Medical Association (NWTMA) was established in 1985 as the professional association for physicians in the Northwest Territories and is a conjoint division of the Canadian Medical Association.
Member benefits
The NWTMA has negotiated health and dental, short- and long-term disability and life insurance benefits and maternity leave.
Physician employment contracts also include reimbursement of Canadian Medical Protective Association fees, Canadian Medical Association and NWTMA dues, NWTMA licence fees and other professional membership fees. Other benefits include paid time spent and a generous budget for Continued Medical Education (CME) activities, as well as paid vacation time.
