Description

The NZ Society of ORLHNS aims to cultivate and promote all clinical, academic and scientific aspects of ORLHNS and related sciences.

Its Members are Doctors who are working in the specialty as Consultants, other Hospital Doctors, Trainees in the Specialty, or Experts in a related science.

Principal activities

The cultivation and the promotion of scientific aspects of ORLHNS and related sciences.

To confer, cooperate and affiliate with other bodies having similar objectives.

To provide an authoritative body of opinion on the medical and surgical management of diseases of the ears, nose, throat, hearing, speech, head and neck, and to promote them in relation to the health of the community.

To advise professional colleagues and disseminate information to members of the public on the scope of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and advances in the speciality.

Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery is a surgical specialty, also known as Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery (ENT).

This specialty deals with conditions of the ear (hearing loss, infections, etc.), nose (injuries, deformities, nasal allergies, etc.), throat (inflammations, tonsillitis, snoring, tumours of the throat and larynx, etc) and head and neck (swellings in the neck, thyroid or salivary gland disorders, etc.).
