Voluntary member-based, nationally-affiliated organization representing the professional interests and concerns of physiotherapists; advocating on their behalf; and enlarging the imprint of the physical therapy profession in Alberta.

Mission / Aims

With a unified voice, the Alberta Physiotherapy Association supports, promotes, educates and advocates on behalf of the profession to enhance the practice of physiotherapy in Alberta.

Principal activities

Public awareness of the accessibility and utility of physical therapy services; government relations on behalf of the practice interests of physiotherapists; negotiation of third-party-payer contracts on behalf of physiotherapists.

Training / Licensing / Certification

None as a matter of routine. Courses offered to meet changing demands - business operations for physiotherapists in entrepreneurial private practice, and certain physiotherapy specialty courses (Sahrmann, ie).
