Description

The Modern Language Teachers Association of Queensland (MLTAQ) is the peak professional body representing teachers of Languages (other than English) throughout the State.

Member benefits

Provision of professional development, information, resources and networks for teachers. Branches provide activities for school students.

Mission / Aims

The MLTAQ provides a common voice for languages educators in all sectors in Queensland on state and national issues. The MLTAQ aims to facilitate communication and cooperation between languages educators and to promote study, criticism, research and instruction in the field of language pedagogy, teaching methodology and linguistics.

Principal activities

To foster close links among all concerned with the teaching and/or learning of languages;

To foster high standards in the teaching and learning of languages;

To foster the development of teachers of languages;

To facilitate the dissemination of knowledge of current practice and research into the teaching and learning of languages;

To conduct conferences, seminars, forums and workshops on various aspects of the teaching and learning of languages;

To publish information & articles of interest and value to the practising teachers of languages.
