A Chapter of ATA (American Translators Association), serving the translators and interpreters in North and South Carolinas.

Online and printed listing in a directory of translators and interpreters. CATI Quarterly online newsletters (4 times/year).

Mission / Aims

To promote the recognition of translating and interpreting as professions and to defend and support the interests and concerns of professional translators and interpreters. To encourage high-quality service and ethical business practice among members. To disseminate information to the public about translating and interpreting. To facilitate mutual assistance among translators and interpreters and to provide a medium for collaboration with persons in allied professions.

Principal activities

CATI Annual Conference (April), Workshops, social gatherings.

Training / Licensing / Certification

CATI encourages members to take ATA Certification Exam, and occasionally provides workshops for ATA Certification Exam.

Additional information

CATI membership is open to anyone interested in translation or interpretation. We do not limit the membership to North and South Carolina, but most of the activities are held in these two states.
