The American Academy of Personal Training is a state licensed, private vocational school offering a comprehensive education and certification program covering all subjects critical to building a successful career in the health, fitness and wellness industry. The Academy offers a 300 hour course (3 or 6 month formats, Fast-Tracked or Self Paced study) that involves 150 hours of academic study in a traditional classroom setting integrated with 150 hours of practical hands-on training in our world class training facilities. The curriculum is internationally accredited and our graduates are eligible to be certified by NSCA, ACSM and NASM at discounted rates. We are proud of our job placement rate -- over 90% of our graduates are employed immediately upon graduation.
Academy graduates develop the knowledge base and skills that are essential to prescribe exercise and direct fitness programs for active and sedentary individuals, including senior citizens and those with multiple medical conditions including but not limited to cancer, obesity, diabetes, heart disease and hypertension.
The Academy's instructors all have advanced degrees as well as a deep understanding of biomechanics, training adaptations, nutrition, anatomy, exercise physiology, and exercise prescription that far exceed the current standards in the industry. Along with classroom lectures and practical instruction our students have the opportunity to attend special workshops lead by guest experts.
Upon graduation from The Academy, students go on to work as personal trainers in various aspects of the health and fitness industry such as health clubs, personal training studios, corporate wellness centers, physical therapy and rehab practices, hospitals, the great outdoors and individual clients homes.
