Mission / Aims

The BCATA acts as a provincial voice governing the standards and practice of the art therapy profession and its practitioners. The BCATA provides professional registration for art therapists in BC which entitles them to use BCATR after their name. The BCATA upholds the BCATA Code of Ethics and encourages research with respect to art therapy.

Principal activities

The BCATA represents the interests of its members, supports the continued growth and development of the therapeutic use of art, educates the public, and promotes the profession of art therapy. The BCATA also offers practical experience and information on current art therapy technique, theory, and practice, in the form of professional development workshops.
