Description
NHPA is dedicated to the advancement of psychology as both a profession and science, for the benefit of the public we serve. Our goals this year reflect the many ways we are working on this mission:
Continuing Education of our members to improve our knowledge and understanding of the science and techniques related to our work with clients.
Political advocacy to enhance public access to care for mental health issues, including managed care and insurance reform and to optimize our scope of practice and influence in health care policies impacting on our profession and clients.
Community outreach to increase education about mental health issues. Public relations efforts to help clients and their advocacy groups learn about what psychologists do and how we can help.
Member Education to enhance understanding and ability to impact on state and federal laws which regulate our profession.
Education and outreach concerning ethical issues related to clinical and academic activities of our members.
Promotion of services which can help generate funding for the Association.
Development and modification of communication systems including a media outlet on our website, email list serve and other communication forums for clinical and other professional purposes.
