Sacramento Valley Psychological Association (SVPA)

Description

The Sacramento Valley Psychological Association is a Chapter of the California Psychological Association, an affiliate organization of the American Psychological Association.
Most of the members of SVPA are psychologists who provide services to individuals, organizations, and the community. We welcome the participation of psychologists from academia. In addition, we welcome and have membership categories for non-psychologist members.
Our goal as an organization is to promote the ethical and effective practice of psychology and the recognition of our discipline as a unique and independent profession devoted to human service. As a profession, we maintain standards of practice that are grounded in a scientifically developed body of knowledge.
At the local level, here in Sacramento, SVPA strives to promote the public good by promoting and supporting the work of our individual members. In addition to efforts at professional promotion, we focus particularly on providing educational opportunities for our members - locally and at a reasonable price.
