Description

The American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) is the oldest and largest professional association dedicated to the field of group psychotherapy. It supports the field of group psychotherapy through a tri-partite structure: AGPA, a professional and educational organization; the Group Psychotherapy Foundation, its philanthropic arm and the National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists, a standard setting and certifying body. The Association has almost 3,000 members, many of whom have been recognized as specialists through the Certified Group Psychotherapist credential. Promoting quality group psychotherapy care as a primary method of treatment that is clinically sound, cost-effective, and accessible,
Advancing group psychotherapy training and research,
Providing a network of peer support that serves the professional needs of group practitioners,
Advocating for quality care on behalf of its members, clients/patients and the public.
