Description

The EAP represents 128 organisations (28 national umbrella associations, 17 European-wide associations for psychotherapy) from 41 European countries and by that more than 120.000 psychotherapists. Membership is also open for individual psychotherapists.
Based on the Strasbourg Declaration on Psychotherapy of 1990, the EAP represents high training standards for a scientifically based and stands for a free and independent practice of psychotherapy.

Member benefits

The EAP has developed ethical guidelines for the protection of the patients which are obligatory for its members.
The new EAP statutes are also available.
The EAP disposes of a data base as a central information base on psychotherapy for the European Union, governments, public authorities, and other organisations.
The EAP is a founding member and active part in the World Council for Psychotherapy (WCP).
The head office of the EAP is located in Vienna.
The EAP is publishing the International Journal of Psychotherapy (ISBN 1356-9082).
